The team behind DerbyWheel is an expert international team with decades of experience of developing

Pro Keirin in Korea and Japan and over 20 years organising major international track cycling events.

Our core team is bolstered by a global network of seasoned experts and former athletes, whose wealth of experience

and international presence drive DW's mission forward, serving as ambassadors for the sport worldwide:

DJ HYUN - DWI President
Founder of Derby Wheel and Ice Derby. In 2006, he founded Ice Derby, which developed speed skating as a wheeled model, and built a global network while marketing worldwide. In 2022, he expanded into the cycling sector and founded Derby Wheel.
In particular, his victory in a 10-year administrative and legal dispute with the International Skating Union (ISU), protecting athletes' rights from the tyranny of a powerful sports organization, and the recognition under international law that third-party organizations and companies, not just international sports organizations, can host international competitions, is of great significance in the history of world sports.

SCAPIN LEE - DWI CEO

Scapin has a distinguished career in racing and sports promotion. He introduced the first Tote System to

the Korean Horse Racing Association in 1983, then spent 23 years with KSPO, helping launch and develop Korea Keirin.

Lee served as board chairman of SPO1, Busan’s Keirin-Racing organization (2019-2021). In 2022, he joined DWI to launch DW, aiming to establish a Global Pro Keirin Racing platform.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

DH JEONG - DWI Vice President 

Having served as the Head of Public Relations at NW Airlines, President of a Korea-Japan distribution company, and CEO of an IT firm, he has built an extensive network through diverse business experiences in both Korea and Japan.

He is a financial expert who spent 20 years stationed in Japan, and is in charge of cooperation and financial-related operations with Japan, the birthplace of Keirin.

ROSS EDGAR - DWP Head of Sport

Ross’s Knowledge of the sport and riders are second to none. He was part of the golden era of British Cycling with a career spanning over a decade including Olympic Keirin Silver medal in Beijing 2008.

Following his racing career Ross led athletes to World Championship success as National Sprint Coach with the Australian and South Korean Olympic cycling teams. He is an unrivaled expert on keirin, including matches and riders, and is in charge of the operation of the DerbyWheel.

ANTHONY McCROSSAN - DWP Head of Production

Anthony has over 20 years experience in the Broadcast Industry. He was one of the team that created, ran

and ultimately sold pioneering streaming channel Cycling TV.

He subsequently build production company Cyclevox where he developed TV and digital cycling programming both live and highlights for channels worldwide including Eurosport, SBS, Channel 4, ITV4, Sky and others.

GARY WILLIS - DWP Head of Events

With event management experience spanning Olympic, Commonwealth, World Championship, European Championship and World Cup level events Gary is well positioned to lead the delivery of DW events and

bring innovation and expertise to ensure our events create a world class experience for athletes and spectators alike.

JACK MORTELL – Derby Sports USA & Derby Sports Global CEO 

Jack has been involved in the international sports world for over 50 years, accumulating a distinguished record including Short Track World Champion, U.S. Olympic Gold Medal Coach, and

U.S. Sports Hall of Fame inductee.

Having received a commendation from the IOC for his contributions to sports and the Olympic spirit, he met the founder of Derby Sports (Hyun Do-jeong) in 2010, established a branch in Chicago,

USA, and is currently pouring his full energy into the global success of Icederby and DerbyWheel.

DENNIS KLASTER – Derby Sports Europe CEO 

Dennis Klaster, a visionary Dutch entrepreneur, excels in the commercial development of sports. He has represented World and Olympic champions, securing top-tier sponsorships with global brands. Dennis’s work with Icederby provided invaluable insights into bridging athletes, venues, and sponsors, and these lessons seamlessly translate to the development of DerbyWheel.

SHAABAN MOHAMMED – DW Africa Agent

Shaban is the Secretary-General of both the Ghana Cycling Federation and the West African Cycling Federation, as well as the head of operations for the Ghana Olympic Committee, and he is also a member of

the UCI’s Disabled Cyclists Committee and chairman of the African Disabled Cyclists Committee. 
He is leading the globalization of the DerbyWheel, believing that the revenue generated through it will serve as

a powerful motivator for African cyclists without financial support, opening the path for them to compete in future Olympic and world championships and stand on the podium. 
It is playing a major role in establishing a particularly friendly relationship between the DerbyWheel and the UCI.

SIMON PARK – DW Korea Agent

Simon was top Special Class Keirin rider in Korea.

After retiring, he was elected and has been serving as the Chairman of Korea Professional Cyclists Association where all the Professional Korean Keirin riders are members.

TAKAYUKI SUZUKI – DW Japan Agent

Takayuki is the President of Nova Corona, one of the top bike manufacturers in Japan that produces the bike for Pro Keirin. Takayuki is a Keirin specialist and has established a wide network amongst riders and key stakeholders in Japan Keirin while sponsoring top Japan Keirin riders.

LEO JEON – DWI Director

Leo was former Pro Keirin cyclist in Korea.He was top S class Keirin rider for 11 years and after retiring, he served as the UCI track team coach at KSPO (Korea Keirin operator) and now teaches students at Hanyang University as a adjunct professor.
